Turkey, the Blue Mosque
The Blue Mosque is one of the most famous and most important tourist attractions in Istanbul, and visitors come to it from everywhere in the world, due to its wonderful architecture and engineering
The Blue Mosque is characterized by the activities of its worshipers during most of the prayers, especially Friday prayers and Tarawih prayers in the month of Ramadan, and the Blue Mosque is the only mosque that contains six minarets.
The Blue Mosque was built in (1617) and designed by “Mehmed Agha,” one of the most famous ancient Turkish architects.
The Blue Mosque is located on the south side of the “Hagia Sophia Museum” and from the east of the ancient Byzantine race field. The mosque has a high wall surrounding it on three sides and the wall has five gates, three of the doors leading to the courtyard of the mosque and two doors that open to the prayer hall.
